Another Earth Day, as it has been since 1970 when the un established this commemoration to raise awareness about problems such as overpopulation, pollution, climate change, and man-made changes in nature, among other ailments that have worsened over the years.
The planet is already experiencing a warming of 1,1 ° C, a phenomenon that has devastated families, homes and communities. On the other hand, scientists agree that, to guide us to limit the increase in global temperature to 1,5 ° C, emissions should rapidly fall from 56 to 25 gigatons by 2030.
Have the efforts of governments, companies, organizations and citizens been sufficient? Or, given the risks of climate change, is it time to take seriously the challenge of sustainability, to prioritize the planet? How are renewable energies part of sustainability?
